Plastic materials carry countless environmental risks including but not limited to: The depletion of non-renewable natural resources, air pollution from new plastic material manufacturing, the degradation of the natural landscape, loss of valuable lands space due to the construction of landfills. As a result of these serious pollution concerns and a steep decline in sanitary landfill sites, the recycling of plastic products has become vital. Recently, the manufacturing industry started reusing recycled plastic artifact for the fabrication of many household products like clothes hangers, toys, seeding containers etc. However, this initiative alone cannot resolve all of the plastic pollution problems that we have. In an effort to participate in reducing plastic waste pollution, it is beneficial to introduce and incorporate non-biodegradable construction waste as a part of the resources used in construction. With this in mind, this research presents the development of an effective technique of creating a sustainable concrete material consisting of recycled high density polyethylene plastic, recycled aggregate cement and fly-ash. The specific objectives of this research are: To evaluate the performance of a sustainable concrete material made from recycled aggregate, fly ash & reclaimed HDPE fibers. To determine the variation of strength and toughness with a Fiber Factor incorporating length, width and amount of HDPE fibers To identify the best performing mix design based on tensile strength and toughness 2PDF Image | HDPE FIBER REINFORCED RECYCLED AGGREGATE CONCRETE
