The bond strengths achieved by Loctite® H3000TM and H4500TM SpeedbonderTM Structural Adhesives, 3032TM Adhesive, Loctite® E-90FLTM and E-20HPTM Hysol® Epoxy Adhesives, and Loctite® 3631TM Hysol® Hot Melt Adhesive did not achieve substrate failure but performed exceptionally well. However, the addition of an antistatic agent resulted in a large, statistically significant increase in the bond strengths achieved on ABS. Loctite® 1942TM Hysol® and Loctite® 7804TM Hysol® Hot Melt Adhesives consistently achieved the lowest bond strengths. Loctite® 3032TM Adhesive, Polyolefin Bonder 2000 13.8 Loctite® E-00CLTM Hysol® Epoxy Adhesive, Low Odor Loctite® E-90FLTM Hysol® Epoxy Adhesive, Flexible 450 3.1 3500 24.2 Surface Treatments Surface roughening caused a statistically significant increase in the bond strengths achieved when using Loctite® 380TM Black Max® Instant Adhesive and Loctite® 330TM Depend® Adhesive. The effect of surface roughening could not be determined for Loctite® 401TM Prism®, 4011TM Prism®, 414TM Super Bonder® Instant Adhesives, and Loctite® 3105TM and 3311TM Light Cure Adhesives because the bonds created by these adhesives were stronger than the ABS substrate for both the treated and untreated ABS. Likewise, the effect of using Loctite® 770TM Prism® Primer, in conjunction with Loctite® 401TM Prism® Instant Adhesive, or Loctite® 4011TM Prism® Medical Device Instant Adhesive with Loctite® 7701TM Prism® Primer, could not be determined.
