Culture Fishing Boat Design From Polyethylene Material Uğursal Demir*, Ercan Köse** *Maltepe University, Istanbul, ugursaldemir@maltepe.edu.tr **Karadeniz Technical University, ekose@ktu.edu.tr Abstract Besides the scientific developments realized in recent years, increasing population is taking its place among the problems of food need. It is estimated that this problem will become more and more fragile in the coming years. Especially in Turkey, with the incentives and investments made in recent years, culture fishing are being developed in the sector and it is aimed to increase employment. In this study, a service boat design which is used by farms that are culture fishing in economic and operational terms has been realized. Primarily as sheet and pipe; High density polyethylene (HDPE 100) material which is cheap, easily processable, good in corrosion resistance, high strength and light weight in addition to thermal stability is preferred for new and superior operational material requirements. The use of HDPE 100, a thermoplastic composite material in an optimized polyethylene vessel optimized for operating conditions with feeding, spraying systems, requires little maintenance and is easily repairable compared to other conventional materials. Net cage culture used in culture fishing were also made of HDPE 100, so the sector is not foreign to this material. Introduction Development of the aquaculture sector in Turkey in recent years, there has been a research topic in itself about the new needs of the sector. In spite of the capacity to be increased, in addition to the required yield from fish production, the ability to perform fast, efficient operations is closely related to the production hierarchy of the aquaculture farms. The number of cages is low; fish farms with a cage diameter of less than 8 metric meets their needs with simple traditional methods, the need of large farms requires much more professional intervention. Existing steel and wood boats are heavily spent on engine maintenance, dying, cleaning algae, and these days can last for days.
