and twill weave [19]. In this project, the kenaf will be weaved as plain weave. Plain weave is the most basic type of textile weaves. The warp and weft are aligned so they form a simple criss-cross patern. Each weft thread crosses the warp threads by going over one, then under the next, and so on. FIGURE 2. 3. Example of plain woven kenaf yarn. 2.3. Mechanical and Physical Properties of Materials The mechanical and physical properties of materials used in this project are shown in Table 2.1. The melting temperature of the matrix is intended to be lower than reinforcement fiber. The temperature gap between matrix and fiber should be large enough to prevent any possibility for the reinforcement to melt. TABLE 2. 1.
