Long oven cycles Heat-transfer rate not adequate to melt all the resin, excessively thick mold • Increase heat-transfer rate by using thinner mold walls, or make the mold from material with greater heat-transfer coefficient, e.g. steel- aluminum copper. Heat not efficient • Increase air velocity around mold during heating cycle. Low oven temperature • Increase oven temperature. • Recalibrate instruments as they may be reading high. 27
