DESIGNS USING INTERNAL & EXTERNAL UNDERCUTS An undercut on a rotationally molded part is any projecting wall that is parallel to the parting of the mold that must be deformed in order to be removed from the mold. Because of the rotational molding process there are design limitations and material requirements in order to produce an effective piece. Many times parts are constructed of two or more pieces to accommodate internal and external undercuts that are necessary for a product. These extra components, however, do add to overall maintenance and design costs.
